The Last Supper
He took the cup in the last supper
Of his life, this was the cup to
End life or Begin life anew, for
He knew the price of a cup not pure.
He took of the cup anyway,
Feeling the Spirit in him showing him
The way back to the place that God lived
All starting in that little country Church.
His Grandfather turned and looked
A stare that went right through him,
One that told him that if he partakes
He must change his ways or risk all.
This little Church in Datil where
The roots of his family dwelt,
Was the beginning of the uphill
Battle to walk again with God.
